MICKEY BLACK RELEASES ETHEREAL, EVOCATIVE AND EMOTIONAL DEBUT SINGLE “BREAK DON’T BEND”

Musician and producer Mickey Black may not have many songs under his belt yet — but if his debut single “Break Don’t Bend” is anything to go by, the Wisconsin native will have numerous fans of his addictive and thoughtful music in no time. With its steady synth beats and early 1990’s sound that wouldn’t be out of place in a Twin Peaks episode, “Break Don’t Bend” is a dream-like track that evokes both today and a time long ago — whisking listeners away on an atmospheric ride full of love and affection. Black’s reverb-y vocals only add to the mystery and dreaminess of the song, which delves into all manner of loving someone without being overly sentimental. “Break Don’t Bend” is the perfect track to vibe to during these cool autumn nights: and as Black himself says:

“It’s a catchy (but not too saccharine), smooth, dreamy number about loving those with flaws. It’s a synth and bass driven indie-pop song with a somewhat nostalgic vibe while treading new ground simultaneously.”

Be sure to check out Mickey Black on Spotify.
