MADS LANGELUND GRASPS FOR LOVE ACROSS THE MILES IN EMOTIONALLY-WRENCHING AND UPBEAT SINGLE “PAPER PLANE”
Though he’s only be releasing music for a short while, Danish-born Mads Langelund is no stranger to tackling big, relatable topics in his infectiously catchy pop songs. With his latest single, “Paper Plane,” Langelund reaches for great heights both literally and metaphorically, as he sings his heart out about wanting to reconnect with a love far away. The song is a perfect fusion of 1980’s-meets-modern-electronica, and features the wonderful vocals of Langelund, whose vibrato and Hozier-like vibe gives him a specific edge to conveying the emotions needed for this track. “Paper Plane” plays like a montage in a TV show or film — or, at the very least, a track that one can easily blast while driving down a highway. It’s fun, breezy and emotional — especially considering its meaning for Langelund himself:
“Lyrically ‘Paper Plane’ is about a a long-distance relationship Mads had with a former high school girlfriend who at the time lived in the US and Mads in Denmark … Nostalgia, love and raw energy is all melting together … With it’s flowing synthesizers, guitars and great big pop-chorus, ‘Paper Plane’ is guaranteed to make the listener head-bang whether it’s at home, in the car or just in your earphones while being out.”
