Love Bites In Dan Croll’s ‘Talk To You’

Talking is way of communication among us humans. It’s our way of relaying emotions, information and everything in between to others. While writing and singing are all part of it, speaking is still the main foundation. It goes to show that despite those who think that “Sticks and stones may break my bones. But words will never break me.”, it still has power on us. In the end, it’s still a bridge we constantly build to make connections to the world we live in.

The same can be said with love and attraction. While you can get mesmerized by looks alone. It is when you start a conversation that love and admiration truly begins. This sentiment is beautifully echoed in Dan Croll’s latest song ‘Talk To You’. Released March 15th in all streaming platforms via Communion Records. ‘Talk To You’ explores the psyche of someone in love and missing their lover.

Whether lonesome due to a breakup or a case of an LDR (long distance relationship). Dan Croll gives us a glimpse of that emptiness that resides within when our love moves away. As the lyrics would say “There’s nothing like the end of an era. No chance of ever turning back. So I’ll ride it out tonight.”. With them elsewhere, everything else is gloomy like a dark cloud hanging around. Rain drops are substituted with tear drops, till they talk again sometime. Definitely a slippery slope, all there is to do for now is hang on “and hope there’s a solace on the other side.”.

As melancholic as this all sounds, ‘Talk To You’ strays away from the ‘woe is me’ approach. Instead going for a more hopeful light on the situation through his gentle vocals and dreamy instrumentals. This is then accentuated by the excitable rhythm and beat that we can all follow along to. Providing us this vibe of being out in the open contemplating about life. An afternoon in the park perhaps?

So if you’re on the lookout for a tune to move and groove to while making your heart smile. Then Dan Croll’s ‘Talk To You’ is the right one for you.
