“Lothario” by Gold Spectacles

For fans of Gotye and Matt and Kim, Gold Spectacles’ newest track “Lothario” may be right up your alley!

This song’s energy is fun and playful right off the bat with a catchy guitar riff. Multi-instrumentalist duo project Gold Spectacles aims to create what they call “baroque-pop,” successfully creating their own sub-genre in this song with nostalgic Spanish guitar, a lazy upright piano and bells sampled from a local church.

The term “Lothario” refers to a person who isn’t entirely trustworthy; they may have an ulterior motive and leave you in the dust out of the blue, questioning if you ever really knew them at all. It might be safe to say almost everyone has experienced someone like this in their life to some capacity at one point or another.

If you like what you hear, consider giving some love to Gold Spectacles’ debut self-titled album which released in 2019.
