KITO FEATURES BANKS IN THE NEW RELEASE OF HER EDM BANGER, “SAD GIRL MUSIC”

After producing her last 2021 EP Blossom, Kito came back to collaborate with BANKS on her new single, “Sad Girl Music” via Astralwerks. The duo previously collaborated on BANKS single, “Gimme” in 2019, where Kito helped co-produce the album III song and realized there was immediate chemistry. Kito says, “’Sad Girl Music’ is our bad girl anthem; I’ve had it on repeat ever since BANKS got on it and it’s definitely one of my favorite releases to date.” BANKS continues this sentiment, stating,

“After working together on ‘Gimme,’ Kito and I always talked about making more music together. When this song came together, it felt right. Doing a feature is fun for me because it gets me outside my box a little bit and this is a fresh, bouncy tune.”

“Sad Girl Music” is about a lapse of judgment that resulted in the demise of a once-cherished relationship – a.k.a “a bad girl / Listening to sad girl music.” The synchronization of BANK’s smooth vocals and the production Kito’s EDM energy builds to the perfect euphonic tune, combining the two unique sounds each artist is notoriously known for. While the song begins subtly, it amplifies with each chorus – promoting a hype intensity and vigor.

Kito and BANKS wrote “Sad Girl Music” with MNEK, M-Phazes, and Rory Noble, receiving a global premiere from Triple J (Kito’s fifth Triple J premiere) for the song and gaining the stamp of approval from fans everywhere. While this collaboration has had great success, Kito and BANKS deserve individual recognition as well for the accolades they’ve received over the years.

Flaunt published an article about Kito’s artistic-genius earlier this year, stating, “Kito is a whole vibe, and it shines through in her music…from her romantic lyrics to her uptempo production to her catchy hooks, Kito knows a thing or two about hit records.” That she does, as Kito also earned her first Gold record for “Bitter” with FLETCHER in 2020, with over 200 million combined global streams. Some of the Australian record-producer’s most recent collaborations include features from BROODS, Bea Miller, VanJess and Channel Tres, and ZHU and Jeremih on her latest EP, Blossom.

As we know, BANKS is Kito’s latest feature with “Sad Girl Music,” and one of the most prominent recording artists in the game since charting in the top 20 albums in seven countries with her 2014 debut album, Goddess. Since then, BANKS has established herself in the industry as a singer, songwriter, producer, poet, and director, with her fourth studio album, SERPENTINA, out now.
