“10,000ft.” is the closing single off of Kiri T‘s upcoming second album, CHILI T. Kiri T is a singer/songwriter and record producer who grew up between Hong Kong, the UK, and the US, leading her to discover her artistry in a mixture of cultures and identities. She weaves together lush and shimmery sounds with driving beats. With her astute lyrics and delicate yet powerful vocals, her sound hits a sweet spot between contemporary R& and indie-pop. She has performed at venues in the UK and HK and at local music festivals. She has also collaborated, written for, and produced for other well-known acts in Asia, including HOCC, Kay Tse, Kary Ng, and Waa Wei.

This single is a confessional song written by George Morgan, Lux Pyramid, and Kiri T. It expresses the deep gratitude Kiri has for her loved ones and how undeserving and hard to love she sometimes feels about herself because of her quirks and flawed personality. It’s a relatable track that has a spacious and magical production, carrying undertones of hope for the bittersweet lyrics. The lo-fi backtrack uses steady drum beats and singular guitar strums to outfit the track with a mellow vibe that complements Kiri’s sweet and soothing vocals. Her voice carries a rhythmic tone as she reveals her thoughts around her insecurities. We hear her express her gratitude for not being let down by those around her, and it’s undeniable that having a good support system is helpful when we’re feeling at our lowest. Although she touches on her vulnerabilities, the song ultimately isn’t one that is sad. It’s one that is expressive of thankfulness and appreciation for the patience she has been shown.
