Icona Pop’s New Single Asks An Electrifying Question
Icona Pop returns with a new single release, “Where Do We Go From Here.” The Swedish duo, comprising of Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, combine electronic and pop music to create a genre that exudes pure energy and rhythm.
This song, as well as their previous single “Shit We Do For Love,” will appear on the tracklist for their upcoming album. Club Romantech is set to release September 1, alongside thirteen new tracks. The musicians shared that the album came into being during quarantine brought on by COVID-19, after having moved back to Stockholm and worked on music in isolation. Despite the challenges, they found they had the time to explore, have fun and even try new things.
“Where Do We Go From Here” was one of the first songs we wrote in the fall of 2020 after realizing we couldn’t move back to LA because of the pandemic. Back in Stockholm, we formed a small crew to start making music and thought ‘what the f*ck are we going to do now?’ Eclectic, fun, hard, pop, deep, mainstream, catchy, weird, late at night, early in the morning – always with a tear in the corner of the eye and a smile on our face. That’s how ‘Where Do We Go From Here’ feels and that’s how CLUB ROMANTECH feels too.

“Where Do We Go From Here” wastes no time on an introduction. As soon as the track starts, Jawo and Hjelt start singing. As the song plays, listeners will find themselves unable to contain movement. Icona Pop keeps things interesting by adding variation on a rather steady beat. Sometimes the tune climbs up and down scales, and sometimes the mood changes with a more subdued rhythm. Regardless, it’s the fastest, most fun two minutes.
We got blood, we got luck, we got money
So where do we go, where do we go from here?
We got love, we got tons, we got honey
So where do we go, where do we go from here?
