Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and producer, Hazy Shea, shares their latest single, “Sneaky Link.” Hazy’s love for experimentation showcases a sound that offers a powerful and visceral response to her listeners. A distinct edge paints their soundscape with a tinge of melancholy, particularly throughout the latest release. Her musical journey began at birth. But at 17, she got her first guitar and began writing and recording songs in a friend’s closet. Her first real step in the industry was when she began producing trap beats under Project X of 808 Mafia (NLE Choppa, Future, Lil Uzi Vert + More) in 2021.
Since releasing her first track in early spring, 2022, Hazy has amassed nearly two million all-times streams across platforms. She’s also headlined shows across Los Angeles, including the iconic Viper Room, Peppermint Club, as well as multiple shows with WFNM artist showcase. Shea continues placing her stamp in the city’s underground scene.

My music challenges the idea that you can be one thing or express yourself in one type of way. Sometimes, I find that the industry and society as a whole push us to have a single defined energy and vibe, but I’ve never been able to live up to that expectation. Only finding my center by leaning into my duality — from my sound, my aesthetic, or whatever way I feel like presenting myself to the world.
With a synthy introduction, “Sneaky Link” begins slow and the vocals roll in during the first beat drop. Its message stirs the soul with its experimental sweet sounding vocal production paired with a contrasting instrumental that adds just a little crunch and texture to the song, especially throughout the chorus. The second verse shares a similar sound to the first regarding the human experience, universally. Sultry vocals slow from the first chorus to soak in the atmosphere it creates. The song continues to delve into the emotional complexities of desiring more from a casual relationship. All in all, the song is short, sweet, and sneaks its way into repeating again and again in the head long after the song stops playing; well, “at least until the coffee’s gone,” as the lyrics say…
