Ah, love – there’s no other emotion in the world quite like it. That’s probably why some of the world’s greatest songs are love songs. And when you and the person you love actively choose each other, that sort of love brings you to a whole different level of euphoria. That’s the love that Evan Blum and Lucy Clearwater sing about in their heartwarming duet, “Good In You.”

Evan Blum is a songwriter, producer, and singer based out of Los Angeles, California. Working alongside multiple Grammy award-winning producers and writers, his online videos have gained millions of views collectively. Featured on Billboard, Huffington Post, Refinery29, and Teen Vogue, Blum’s music Is dynamic and eclectic, running the gamut of upbeat and quirky pop gems to mellow and heartfelt acoustic ballads. Drawing from musical influences like The Beatles, Eminem, Jack Johnson, and Max Martin, Blum’s music makes its way into your ears and buys real estate—his hooks are impossible to forget, and his lyrics stay with you for the long haul.

Lucy Clearwater is a 22-year-old acoustic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2016, she has recorded and released two singles and a 6 track EP, performed sold-out shows at The Hotel Cafe and School Night at Bardot, and gone on three solo international tours. Lucy appeared on ABC’s American Idol in 2018 and recently released her debut EP Feel Again. An old soul and world traveler, her songs are incredibly emotive, vulnerable and move people from all walks of life.

“Good In You” takes the form of a conversation between two people choosing to accept each other’s gifts and flaws equally. Evan and Lucy go back and forth with relational anecdotes, ultimately joining voices for a beautifully understated resolve. Blending intimate acoustic guitar, warm piano, and ethereal vocal reverberations, the production creates a hopeful and emotional atmosphere while supporting the undeniable vocal chemistry between the singers. Lucy explains more about the song’s origins,

Evan and I wrote this song sitting on a little patch of grass near Beverly Hills – laughing and relating on the nuances of relationships. We realized there’s always going to be little things about your partner that could be a point of conflict, but if you like them enough, there’s always a way to see the best or the “good” in that person. The whole thing felt so natural and the song came together so quickly. I really think the mood of us sitting on the grass in the sun, seeped into the recording and that’s part of what makes it so sweet and light.

In just a little over 3 minutes, Evan and Lucy give listeners a peek into a devoted relationship – one that sees past the surface to find deeper intention and understanding. The airy soundscape and captivating harmonies carry the loving message, making this a song that’s easy to listen to in any environment while also leaving you with a fuzzy feeling in your heart. “Good In You” is an enchanting track that just draws you in with how sweet it is.
