Exclusive Zoom Interview with SHAB, a Rising Pop Star with a Purpose

Spending the last few years gaining a fan base worldwide, SHAB has established herself as a pop music star with a purpose. With a distinctive background that covers three continents, SHAB now maintains homes in both Dallas and Baltimore and has two young children who continuously bring her joy and motivation.

Originally born in Tehran as the youngest of 13 children, she has a long history of music in her life as it was always closely associated with family. Following the continuous socio-political turmoil and persecution from the Iranian Revolution, her family fled to Germany when SHAB was eight years old, and she wound up attending boarding school until the age of fourteen. After emigrating to the United States by herself, she immediately hit the books hard to learn English while working three jobs. Following high school and after graduating college, SHAB attended law school but soon left to pursue writing and performing music full-time, which now brings us to her current-day career.

Opting for a combination of urban-tilting songs, pop ballads, and dance-inducing knockouts, SHAB delivers a kaleidoscope of sound that goes hand-in-hand with her introspective and powerful lyrics with huge choruses and distinct yet unpredictable vocals. Aside from being a mother and a performer, she also organizes benefits that align with her values, many of which are born from the resilience she has had to show throughout her life. You can watch our full interview below in which she discusses more about her background, her grounding beliefs, and what she plans to do next.
