Catie Turner’s New Song Is “Easy” To Relate To
It’s easy to love the new Catie Turner track, “Easy.” But the song is so much more than a simple melody to sing along to. It’s vulnerable and straight from the heart, as Turner opens up about her fears of being perceived as burdensome. She wants to be seen as someone who is “easy,” a feel-good person to go to for positivity only.
But it’s unrealistic to be perfectly easy, nor should we exist solely to serve those around us. Turner’s recent release is a reminder for fans that they aren’t alone in their anxieties about being good enough for the ones they care about.
To be quite frank, this song came from me being depressed and oh-so-high (if there are children reading this, I was high on life and introspection). I often times feel too much, and even more so I fear being “too much”; I want to be easy. The one who only elicits pleasant feelings. Unfortunately, there is no rule book that can teach you how to be easy 100% of the time: it doesn’t exist. I hope you like it, and cue the laugh track, find it EASY to listen to.

“Easy” opens with soft piano and some gentle strumming in the background, a complementary accompaniment to Turner’s vocals. It’s comforting both sonically and lyrically — it’s why so many listeners love Turner.
Easy for you to need me
Who knew that it would be difficult
Borders unachievable
Never was taught how to be easy
Who knew it wasn’t typical
Odds of being mystical
Never was taught how to be easy
~ “Easy”
After teasing the song on TikTok and gaining mass attention with more than 1.1 million views, the full track’s release was a treat for listeners. It’s a more mellow song than “Hyperfixations,” an introspective addition to her discography.
Turner released the track alongside a visualizer, slowly zooming in and out on a shot of silver school lockers decorated with purple posters reading “Cinderella Auditions Today!” in dainty cursive. The video matches the theme of Turner’s new two-part project, Comedy & Tragedy, which will be released throughout the year. Act 1 is coming in late spring, so get excited.
Plus, Turner is getting ready for her largest tour yet. The Comedy & Tragedy Headline Tour kicks off June 3, so buy some tickets in anticipation of the upcoming releases. Stream “Easy” on all major platforms, and stay tuned for more from Catie Turner on her Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
