Carpenter Brut’s Leather Terror Album Drop With “Widow Maker” Music Video

Carpenter Brut’s Leather Trilogy continues in its second installment, Leather Terror, with the new music video for “Widow Maker” (feat Alex Westway of Gunship). “Widow Maker” continues to follow protagonist Bret Halford (played by Dylan Sprouse) as he exacts his revenge on his high school bullies.

Watch “Widow Maker” here:

In the music video for “Widow Maker,” Bret is now a rock legend, but still suffers from the pain caused by his high school tormentors. Before heading on stage that night, Bret exacts his revenge by murdering them. The look of pure joy on his face, coupled with the sprays of red glitter instead of blood, adds a creepy twist to the horrific scene.

After his killing spree, Bret pumps up backstage in his dressing room by taking a “little red pill.” Everything seems normal as he is led to the stage by his manager, and security holds back screaming fangirls, but all that vanishes once Bret takes the stage. Looking out into the empty audience, Bret sees the lone figure of Kendra McCornish, the cheerleader he had a crush on back in highschool. Now though, she walks up to the stage with a flail in hand, and the face of a zombie. Zombie football players tackle Bret, chasing him and eventually beating him up as a montage plays. The last image of the montage is Bret preparing to stab himself, when he is brought back to reality.

While the first installment of the Leather Trilogy, Leather Teeth presented a celebratory view of 80’s glam rock, Leather Terror showcases Bret Halford’s transformation to a serial killer, with the combination of Carpenter Brut’s signature dark synth sound and metal influence.
