Everything about this collaboration screams “girl power.” From two successful women DJs and the Queen of Pop, the end result is a modern techno remix of the the latter’s 2006 hit “Sorry” off the album Confessions On A Dance Floor. The track was released on July 26 via Insomniac Records.
Madonna is no stranger to having revamped versions of her classic songs. For example, “Material Girl” was given a trendy spin by collaborating with Saucy Santana and releasing “MATERIAL GWORRLLLLLLLL” and “Hung Up” was rebooted as a contemporary trap hit that features rapper Tokischa, appropriately titled “Hung Up on Tokischa“
The remix of the hit consists or warbling synths and melodic beats as it preserves the dramatic and dreamy quality of the original. It consists distorted vocals of the chorus as it repeats the phrase “please don’t say you’re sorry.”
The three women are successful in their own right. The Queen of Pop needs no introduction as she has influenced pop culture over four decades and has no sign of slowing down, despite having a health scare last month. As for BLOND:ISH, she has over 2 million streams on Spotify and is currently on a world tour that will run until Oct. 13. Miss Monique is considered the most recognized female progressive house artist in Europe. Like Madonna, BLOND:ISH and Miss Monique are trailblazers in their own field and hopefully will inspire more women to join the world of EDM.
