For the fourth consecutive year, Lizzo has joined forces with Propeller’s annual Juneteenth Give Back Campaign, making a significant impact on non-profits that support the black community. The campaign aimed to support five grassroots organizations by raising funds for their essential causes and bringing awareness to the significance of Juneteenth.
As part of the launch, one fortunate donor won two tickets to witness Lizzo’s live concert in Japan. Although the sweepstakes has concluded, the impact of the campaign continues to resonate, representing a much-needed sign of positive change in the community.
Embracing her “giving era,” Lizzo encourages all forms of generosity in donations through the Juneteenth Giveback Campaign. Propeller, a social media space for non-profits, provided the platform for this meaningful initiative. Lizzo personally selected five non-profit organizations that hold a special place in her heart, including Black Girls Smile, Sphinx Music, the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, the University of Houston, and Save Our Sisters United. Every organization involved in the campaign plays a crucial role in empowering black and minority voices through art, leadership, and mentorship, ultimately contributing to the advancement of racial justice through diverse avenues.
In an admirable display of commitment to her advocacy, Lizzo was recently honored with the Elevate Prize catalyst award for her outstanding contributions to positive change and social justice. Demonstrating her unwavering dedication, she generously donated her entire $250,000 prize money to all five of the Juneteenth Give Back Campaign’s chosen organizations.
Carolina García Jayaram, CEO of The Elevate Prize Foundation, expressed her admiration for Lizzo’s continuous efforts to uplift others through all of her endeavors. The Elevate Prize Catalyst Award aligns perfectly with Lizzo’s impact, showing her dedication to making the world a better and more equitable place.
“We are thrilled to support Lizzo in shining a light on these remarkable organizations, each of which are perpetuating a message of racial justice and equality. Lizzo never ceases to use her powerful platform to lift up others—a true embodiment of what the Elevate Prize Catalyst Award is all about.”
