BARBIE THE ALBUM follows up its lead single “Dance the Night” with “Watati” by Karol G featuring Aldo Ranks
BARBIE THE ALBUM has returned with another single just one week after unveiling both its full artist lineup and its first single “Dance The Night” by Dua Lipa.
An electrifying tune by Karol G featuring Aldo Ranks titled “Watati,” the single arrives via Atlantic Records, which will the home of the full album as well. With an official companion video arriving later this month, “Watati” is only the second single off the album which will be comprised of 17 tracks in total and featuring globally-renowned artists such as Lizzo, The Kid LAROI, Charli XCX, Tame Impala and many more. With its first single “Dance The Night” by Dua Lipa already amassing over 50 million combined audio and official video streams in one week and receiving praise from Rolling Stone, NPR and Billboard, among others, “Watati” and the rest of BARBIE THE ALBUM will surely experience similar success given their high profile artists and appeal.
BARBIE THE ALBUM continues the partnership between Warner Bros. Pictures and Atlantic Records, who previously joined forces for 2020’s BIRDS OF PREY: THE ALBUM and 2016’s SUICIDE SQUAD: THE ALBUM. With BARBIE THE ALBUM executively produced by Barbie writer/director/executive producer Greta Gerwig and famed DJ and producer Mark Ronson, who has amassed a Golden Globe award, an Oscar, and seven Emmy Awards, and produced and overseen by Alantic Records’ EVP and Co-Head of Pop/Rock A&R Brandon Davis and Atlantic Records’ West Coast President Kevin Weaver, the final product crafted by these gifted titans of the industry is set to to be spectacular. With each of the 17 tracks adding its own signature addition and accompaniment to the Barbie movie, the release of the entire album on July 21st in conjunction with the theatrical release of the feature film is set to add depth and a unique connection to the film through song.
With “Watati” by Karol G featuring Aldo Ranks being only the second single to be released off the album with more to come, as well as the entire album already available for pre-order, each single and the full album are sure to see as much success or more than its first breakout single “Dance The Night” by Dua Lipa.
