Alvvays Extends 2023 Tour Dates, Including Exciting Collaboration With Maggie Rogers
Alvvays has announced that they will be joining Maggie Rogers on more dates of her summer tour. In addition, they will be playing a Hollywood Bowl show in August, as well as playing the iconic Red Rocks. They have also added more West Coast dates to their show.
Previously, the group announced a co-headline tour with indie-rock sensation Alex G for an outstanding North American tour. The co-headline begins with a kickoff concert at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Bandshell. It includes shows in Boston, Toronto, Philadelphia, and more. They will also be touring in the UK and Europe. Disq, Big Rig, and Ex-Vöid, and Maggie Rogers will all join Alvvays for certain shows.

Alvvays’ third and most recent album, Blue Rev, thrives on intricacy. Full of unorthodox sounds that mix just right, it was a worthwhile five year wait since their stunning sophomore record, Antisocialites. After extensive touring, mishaps with gear, and even thievery, the band ripped through Blue Rev in the studio with Shawn Everett. Everett has worked on recent albums by The War on Drugs and Kacey Musgraves, and approached the work with Alvvays with the same obsessive mixing, roughing up, and filling in the cracks.
The band has leveled up significantly since their last release. Drummer Sheridan Riley pounds the kit with the power of a rock deity, and their roommate, bassist Abbey Blackwell, has an exceptional ear for bringing out the heart of a song. Keyboardist Kerri MacLellan joined lead singer Molly Rankin and guitarist Alex O’Hanley to write the album, reinforcing the band’s quest to break free from the patterns heard on their first album, Alvvays, and Antisocialites. Blue Rev is named for the alcoholic beverage Rankin and MacLellan loved as teens, looking back at their country past and forward into a curious world.
