Jane Bell’s ‘REM’ Is A Dance For The Turbulent Heart

REM is an acronym that stands for ‘Rapid Eye Movement’. A state wherein dreams occur, it’s a stage in sleep that we all crave. More than just a gate way to an alternate reality. Achieving REM ensures that we have a sound body and mind to get us through the days and weeks ahead. Think of it as an extra shield to defend us from life’s challenges.

This value in having enough zzzs is heard loud and clear in artist Jane Bell with her latest song ‘REM’. Released April 28th in all major platforms. ‘REM’ is a track based on true life about an ex lover who’s always haunting her dreams. A ghost, the face, memories and little intricacies swirl around in her mind. As a result causing her sleepless nights, an aching heart, and tears that run down like waterfalls.

While this premise is seemingly primed for a heart wrenching ballad. Jane Bell with her stunning vocals, and electric instrumentals veer the other way. Instead going for a danceable tune that’s bound to set the dance floor on fire. It’s a complete opposite of the strong emotions of agony in the lyrics. Giving us this silent acknowledgment that she’s already moved on. Let the dance moves roll in to chase the blues away and let happiness in. Rest assured, this time around a peaceful REM is achieved.
