Alex Di Leo, hailing from Fort Lauderdale, started pursuing his love for music at an early age. On his tenth birthday, his grandmother gifted him an acoustic guitar. After playing in local bands during high school, he dedicated himself to refining a vision in becoming a solo artist. He made his debut with the EP So We Go, which landed Di Leo on the top 20 at more than 100 college radio stations across the country. Over the coming years, he appeared at major festivals, such as Riptide, SunFest, and began performing supporting acts with Barns Courtney, X Ambassadors, and a tour with the Plain White T’s and Knox Hamilton. Alex released his sophomore EP Strange Open Land in 2018.
2019 was a nonstop whirlwind that radically altered Alex’s perspective as an artist. After moving to Nashville from his hometown of Florida, he found himself thrown into an endless cycle of eye-opening experiences and wild new adventures. While touring around the country with artists like Max Frost and Cody Lovaas, Di Leo honed in on his craft in the studio and emerged with new content ready for release.
From that session, his latest single, “Following Feelings” channels all that chaos and self-discovery into a beautifully detailed and hard-hitting track. Pushing the envelope from past releases, this single ultimately shows his most powerful work to date since releasing “Youth” and “Homesick” in 2020. Now at work on his first album, Di Leo notes that all the upheaval of the past year has brought on an intense period of personal growth. “I’m realizing now that it was important for me to go through everything that’s happened,” he points out. And as he’s gained a new level of self-understanding, Di Leo has begun following his instincts more boldly than ever—a move that profoundly impacted his artistry. “Following Feelings” is the first single to come off of his next EP, with much more to come soon in spring next year.
