This week’s New Music Friday spans genres in the most satisfying way. Dive in to find a hidden gem.

1. Sarah Kinsley: “Last Time We Never Meet Again”

Sarah Kinsley makes a whimiscal return with “Last Time We Never Meet Again.” The track leans indie pop-rock, with her baroque-like vocal tone, adding a sense of nostalgia. Layers of bright vocalizations carry the listener through the chorus and post-chorus, where she recollects grand ideas of saving the world with a lover.

2. Aitch: “Maybach Wallet”

From across the pond Aitch makes a comeback with a freestyle, “Maybach Wallet.” A UK Drill staple, he speaks with bravado, creating catchy and satisfying cadence sprinkled with British humor. Over a ever-so-slightly menacing beat, he lays out nonstop roasts and rhymes: “All them lies in the booth, start acting, you’ve got the BAFTAs next”

3. elijah woods: “Sunlight!”

Elijah Woods continues his rise in indie music with “Sunlight!”. His light voice floats happily through a campfire-y pop-rock melody, easy to learn and sing-along with. The song speaks on becoming a new person and discovering what lies in the unknown. He sings, “It’s time to sink or swim / Oh god I know / Here I go.”

4. flora cash: “My Ex Would’ve Left By Now”

Flora Cash brings back tumblr-era melancholy acoustic pop with “My Ex Would’ve Left By Now.” In this relatable track, they list their flaws openly while thanking a partner for sticking with them through it all. The vocals are mixed dynamically, sometimes right next to the ear, and other times through a grainy filter.

5. FEVER 333: “DESERT RAP”

FEVER 333 shows his edge with “DESERT RAP.” Rambunctious and abrasive, the track explodes with character and attitude. By the chorus, his belting rock vocals take the stage, showing his technique. By verse 2, he launches into a fast-paced rap verse, showing versatility. He says, “Got clarity and now I see I can’t please everybody.”
