Sarah Kinsley has just dropped some major news! Her debut full-length album Escaper is set to release on September 6th via Verve Forecast. And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, she’s already giving us a sneak peek with her brand new single, “Last Time We Never Meet Again.”

Pre-order/save the album here.

The new track is a vulnerable moment, capturing the end of a once cherished union. Keeping on theme with the rest of the album that will explore old friendships, and loss. Through light and delicate, the song carries the heavy weight of ending a friendship. “I hope I hear your name and I feel absolutely nothing. Let me be free of you,” she sings.

“Last Time We Never Meet Again” showcases Kinsley’s raw, open lyricism and her ability to craft gorgeous melodies. “So this is it? Our lives were only a blimp of some good thing then, and whatever it is now,” her voice soaring over a flurry of sweet strings. The song takes listeners on a personal journey, processing the past and present, reflecting on what once was.

Kinsley collaborated and co-produced the album alongside Grammy-award-winning producer John Congleton. This collaboration marked a significant shift for Kinsley, who had previously created her EP’s independently. Reflecting on the project, Kinsley stated:

One realization you have eventually as an insular, more introspective person is that there’s a world outside of yourself waiting for you to look into it. I had made every single EP from scratch, in the sweetness of my apartment… This record was meant to be grand and unstoppable. A beginning descent into freefall. Why protect that feeling in solitude? Why not invite another into that journey?

Sarah packs a punch with energy, grace, and a feel-good flair.

Escaper is a blend of Sarah’s classical background and her love for pop. “Last Time We Never Meet Again’ is enchanting and inspiring, showcasing Sarah as one of alt-pop’s most exciting new voices.

She first caught attention with her EP The King, a collection of joyful and promising songs. With each release, she’s grown bolder and more mature. Escaper is a culmination of her growth, a grand and unstoppable debut.
