Soft Wax Releases “Nobody Wants You”

This Kent-based, DIY-Pop band, Soft Wax, began their project after building their own studio in an old garden shed to create their work during the peak of the pandemic. Their debut single, “Dreaming,” earned ‘Record of the week’ on Abbie McCarthy’s BBC Introducing in Kent show, a spin on BBC Radio 6Music, and was crowned Cene magazine’s Choon Of The Day. The second single, “Honestly,” also rode the radio waves and was heavily blogged and playlisted (Compact Cassette and Birp.fm). Since then, they have begun live performances in sharing the stage with Sports Team , Broken Hands and Walt Disco. This year is set to launch a string of new work that takes inspiration of their love of 80’s pop and synthesizers, all while curating a dark and dreamy atmosphere from within the creativity of their own minds.

One of these releases of 2022, “Nobody Wants You,” shares the feelings of loneliness stemmed from feeling that though you may be liked, being loved is another factor and that factor is lacking. The track begins with a wave of deep synths to set the tone before smooth vocals enhance a melancholic mood. The lyrics create an atmosphere and relatable encouragement as it oozes tones straight from the eighties with euphoric melodies contrasted with darker lyrics.
