After several months of silence, MEMBA is back with their second single of 2020. “Strider”, released on Foreign Family Collective, mashes up a soft guitar backing with ethereal vocals and cinematic basslines.
MEMBA is a NY-based duo comprised of Ishaan Chaudhary and Will Curry. They’ve splashed into the EDM scene over the past few years with their distinct and refreshing sounds. Their goal is to combine different inspirational elements in new ways to offer listeners music that is unlike anything else.
From the very beginning of “Strider”, it’s easy to see that this duo excels at what they have set out to do. The intro features pleasantly airy guitar pluckings and as the vocals begin to sneak in, so do more percussive elements. The diversity within sound production is the perfect exhibit of how this duo’s sound remains effortlessly fluid. The vocal pairing is supplied by thomboi and introduces a hauntingly beautiful perspective to the song.
