Following the release of the critically acclaimed EP, “SHE”, and her most recent single, “Winter Rain”, Winona Oak has released yet another masterpiece for 2021. In honor of international women’s day, the Swedish singer-songwriter joined with the bedroom pop breakout star, ELIO, for the new song “Nobody Loves Me.” This track, paired with a colorful and ethereal video, depicts the feeling of loneliness and being a “prisoner of [your] own mind,” as Oak explains.

The lyrics, delivered by Winona and ELIO’s delicate vocals, present a unique take on the feeling of being caught up in the highs and lows of a chemical brain.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m completely isolated from the rest of the world,” the rising artist, Oak states, “like I just can’t help but falling into me. This song is here to remind you (and me) that any small step you take is a step in the right direction. Call a friend, hug your dog, clean your house, go for a walk, have a friendly conversation with a neighbor. Help yourself and others too. It might feel like nobody loves you today but remember that that tomorrow is a new day, a new gift, and tomorrow could be different. One day at a time because you deserve to feel love and light again my friend.”

ELIO shares that when Winona reached out and shared the track, she knew instantly what to write for her verse. To ELIO, this song “. . . battles the idea of feeling like a black sheep and wondering if there’s anyone who truly feels and acts the same way you do. ” She also states, “I don’t know if it’s because I’m not much of a talker, but I feel out of place and socially tired pretty easily, so I enjoyed writing with the idea of everyone kind of faking it till they make it.”
