Whales drops “Digital Demons”, the first single off his forthcoming sophomore LP, Two Worlds Apart. The track features Saphir, a singer-songwriter with her own impressive discography.
On my usual routine, I’m always on the lookout for new music and inspiration online…That’s when I came across “Don’t You See” by Saphir. I was blown away that this song, released in 2023, had that amazing nostalgic NU-Metal sound that I adore. I immediately reached out to Saphir, telling her how much I loved the song and expressing my interest in working together on some electronic dance music. Turns out, she had actually been wanting to explore that mix of genres for a while too. We hopped on a call, and before we knew it, we had created “Digital Demons”.

His album promises many other collaborations with artists like Cure 97, Lusil and more. Fans certainly wouldn’t need any other reason to anticipate.
As soon as the song starts, Whales’ voice comes on, accompanied by a heavy rock instrumental. With electric guitar and drums, the artist begins to incorporate dubstep elements like syncopated beats and claps. About halfway through the song, Saphir takes her turn, and the mood shifts. Though her voice slightly differs from Whales with its lighter quality, it still blends seamlessly.

Whales is already celebrating ten years as a musician, creating what many listeners call Israeli dubstep. Growing up in Israel, Whales always had an affinity for music, listening to many different genres and playing instruments like the goblet drum. Even when he struggled with Tourette’s Syndrome, he continued to pursue music however he could. He then began to produce music, and in 2012, he fell into dubstep and is still contributing to the genre today.
Whales deserves lots of excitement, and so does his upcoming album, Two Worlds Apart. Fans will be able to catch him live at both Lost Lands and Bass Canyon, some festivals at which he’s set to appear. Check out both his Instagram and Spotify— even if you’re not a fan, you’ll still be fascinated.
