VOWWS Launches Collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe in “WAIT.”

We were not ready for what may be the moodiest release this season, as Australian Death Pop duo, VOWWS, joins forces with goth-folk-rock queen, Chelsea Wolfe in their latest release, “WAIT.” Rising with a unique style and sound wave of their own, VOWWS has thus far won the attention of the likes of Gary Numan, Deftones, Comme Des Garçons, and more as their unique musical sensibilities combine with a rich sense of visual lyricism and songcraft uniquely of their own divine creation.

We caught them on tour with Billy Howerdel earlier this year, and their presence was show-stopping, to say the least. And following a round of touring around the country, their latest release creates a concreteness to the abstract thoughts that filled many minds throughout a time of isolation.

This is the most direct, honest song we’ve written. It wasn’t meant to be a VOWWS song originally, it was just an expression of feeling during a difficult time. But it took on a life of its own, especially when we got Chelsea involved – her vocals haunt this track, she took it somewhere we wouldn’t have, and that makes it special to us.

~ VOWWS

Written during the height of pandemic isolation, dealing with the sadness of watching humanity turn on itself – it is a love song, a desperate call to no-one, and a melancholic reflection on a time that has seemingly disappeared as we rush to forget what we may never understand.
