Important Facts & Features for covering the festival
Voodoo Music + Arts Experience returns for its 21st edition, bringing headliners Guns N’ Roses, Post Malone and Beck along with additional performances by Bassnectar, Brandi Carlile, The National, REZZ, Zhu, Young the Giant, Interpol, Sheck Wes, Bring Me the Horizon, Big Gigantic, Clairo and The Glitch Mob to City Park in New Orleans, LA on October 25-27. Over 65 bands will perform across four stages, bringing fans an unforgettable Halloween weekend in New Orleans!
With so much to see, hear and taste at Voodoo, below are our new features, important logistics and pro-tips to best experience and cover the festival.
NEW THIS YEAR:
KING OR QUEEN OF HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
This year brings our first-ever King or Queen of Halloween costume contest. Dress up and join us on Saturday, October 26th from 5-6pm at the House of Blues Tent.
NEWLY ADDED GA+ LOUNGE
Voodoo Fest has added 3-Day and 1-Day GA+ Tickets, where perks include private lounge seating and shade, air-conditioned restrooms, full-service bar with beer, wine and cocktails for purchase as well as screens with live stage feeds.
VOODOO CARES EXPANDS
We care about supporting good causes and providing an opportunity for select organizations to gain support from thousands of other passionate like-minded people. This year’s footprint and causes has excitedly expanded showcasing Voodoo Cares originations, which improve and save lives every single day. HOUSE OF BLUES LOUNGE
The House of Blues will open its signature Lounge right across from the Mortuary. Enjoy live music, cocktails and delicious food offerings, as well as sports viewing. Stop in, relax and enjoy this new addition.
LARGER MORTUARY HAUNTED HOUSE
This year’s Mortuary fright zone is greatly expanded with an interactive graveyard and photo ops.
HOTELS.COM MONSTER SUITE
Hotels.com offers fan an opportunity to join in on the fun on-site. Get your makeup done to spooky perfection and make your friends frightened with photos of your transformed spooky look!
BUMBLE BFF
For the first time, fans are able to refresh and recharge at Bumble BFF’s on-site pop-up installation.
IMPORTANT LOGISTICS:
The Voodoo Box Office will be located across from the Main Gate of the Festival on Friedrichs Avenue. Bring your photo ID to pick up wristbands. Hours are as follows:
- Thursday, 10/24: 12pm – 6pm
- Friday, 10/25: 11am – 10pm
- Saturday, 10/26: 11am – 10pm
- Sunday, 10/27: 11am – 8pm
3-Day & 1-Day GA, GA+, VIP and Platinum Tickets are on sale now and prices will increase on Friday, October 25th. Fans should buy now to lock-in the current and best price.
BAG SEARCH AND ENTERING THE FESTIVAL
Want to get into Voodoo as quick as possible? Leave your bag AND liquids at home. If you DO NOT have a bag, please enter through the No Bag Express Lane. If you DO have a bag, please enter through the Bag Lane and expect delays as bags are open for inspection. Bags will be restricted to small purses, totes and drawstring bags only. Bag size may not exceed 14” x 11” x 5” (35cm x 28cm x 12cm), or 30 linear inches (75cm) in total, and must have no more than one singular pocket or opening. Backpacks and bags with multiple pockets are prohibited. #BYOBottle and stay hydrated throughout the festival! Hydration packs are allowed but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets in addition to the one holding the water reservoir. Please check the list of prohibited items in advance, listen for the audio announcements and dispose of any item that is not allowed inside the festival.
VOODOO FEST PRO-TIPS:
DOWNLOAD THE MOBILE APP
Once you’ve downloaded the mobile app, take a look at the Official Voodoo Map to get to know the festival grounds. Find out which stages are where and map out other hotspots like the Free Water Filling Stations, Forked Up Food Court, Brew Dat Sports and Craft Beer Bar and the Voodoo Mart.
REMEMBER TO STAY HYDRATED + BRING YOUR OWN BOTTE (#BYOBOTTLE)
Bring an EMPTY, refillable water bottle or grab a commemorative reusable cup from the Merch Church or Brew Dat Beer Hall to fill at Water Refill Stations to help reduce plastic waste and show your commitment by tagging #BYOBottle in your Voodoo photos! And don’t forget to eat regularly at the Forked Up Food Court or grab a snack from the Voodoo Mart.
AVOID ARRIVING DURING PEAK HOURS
If you’re arriving between 3-5pm, expect a longer wait time before you get into the festival. Leave your bag at home and take our No Bag Express Lanes for quicker entry.
ENTRY
There are two gates for entry into Voodoo. The Main Gate is along Friedrichs Avenue and the West Gate is along Golf Drive. Both gates allow entry for GA, GA+, VIP and Platinum ticket holders. Box Office/Will Call remains on Friedrichs Ave.
EMERGENCY CONTACT INFO
Have emergency contact info on your person and your phone lock screen in case emergency personnel need to know (PRO-TIP: Make sure to register your wristband where you will be asked to fill out an emergency contact).
FORGET SOMETHING? HEAD TO THE VOODOO MART
The Voodoo Mart is your one-stop shop to buy snacks and basic festival necessities. An Apple? Trail mix? Poncho? Sunscreen? The Voodoo Mart has you covered.
LOCKERS & MOBILE CHARGING
Need a safe place to store your things or charge your phone during the festival? We offer 3-Day, 2-Day and 1-Day rental lockers available near the main entrance. Each locker also comes equipped with a portable charger and cable for on-the-go cell phone charging! Click here to reserve your locker in advance and secure the best available pricing.
BREW DAT CRAFT BEER HALL
Voodoo’s Brew Dat Craft Beer Hall is a beer-lover’s dream! Take a break from the music and check out this haven offering craft beers on tap, sports, and more.
FAMILIES AT VOODOO
Voodoo is great for families, with children 10 and under admitted for free with a ticketed adult. Once you’re in the park, visit a Guest Services booth where parents can register their kids with the festival and receive a special wristband. In the event that a child gets lost, we have a reliable and fast way to reunite them with their parent.
GUEST SERVICES AND LOST & FOUND
Visit a Guest Services booth for all event related questions while on site. Lost and found, Tag-A-Kid and event information are offered. Guest Services booths are located inside each of the entrances. Have a quick question? Check in with the Chat Bot on the Official Mobile App or online.
If you lose something at the festival, you can visit Voodoo’s virtual lost and found at voodoofestival.com/lostfound. Here you can view found inventory, submit a claim, and be more easily connected with your item(s). If you find something, please turn it into a Guest Services booth.
ACCESSIBILITY ACCOMMODATIONS & SERVICES
When arriving at the festival, look for the dedicated Accessibility Lane at each entrance. Once inside the festival, check-in at our Accessibility Center, located near the Main Gate, for details on accommodations and services offered at the festival. AROUND THE PARK:

OFFICIAL VODOO MERCH
Grab the latest voodoo gear at the Merch Church located in the heart of the festival just across from the main entrance. From blankets and hoodies to hats and bandanas, we have tons of treats in store. You’ll also find the latest swag from your favorite bands under the same roof. Surrender to the festival magic and shop early for the best selection!
GETTING TO VOODOO:
There are plenty of ways to get to Voodoo! From Uber to public transportation, keep reading for ways to get to the fest this Halloween weekend.
Arriving to the Fest:
When you’re ready to head to the festival, open your Uber app, the official ride of Voodoo, and request a ride to 53 Dreyfous Drive to take you straight to the Uber Zone.
Leaving from The Fest:
When you’re ready to head home, exit the festival and walk down Victory Ave towards the Uber Zone which is located across from Storyland. You will be able to request a ride once you are at the Uber Zone.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
We encourage the public to take public transit! If taking public transportation from downtown, take the 48-City Park/Museum streetcar on the Canal Street streetcar line. Depart the streetcar at the end of the City Park Line at Lelong/Esplanade and Carrollton Avenues and walk into City Park.
You can take the streetcar to the New Orleans Museum of Art, which is right next to the Festival. Check it out here.
Connecting service is also available with a transfer to the City Park Line from the St. Charles Streetcar Uptown or via RTA buses. PICK UP/DROP OFF AREA
Anyone getting dropped-off or picked-up is welcome to use this dedicated space on Marconi Dr. between Victory Ave. and Tad Gormley Stadium.
The designated ADA Pick-Up and Drop-Off location is off Wisner Blvd. and Lelong Dr. An additional location will be at the Uber Lot off Victory Ave near Betty and Charles Turner Ln.
PARKING
There is limited street parking near and around City Park. Please be aware of any signs restricting parking. Overnight parking, walking, sleeping, camping by individuals or groups is prohibited within the confines of City Park. Also, parking on the Bayou or the Neutral Ground (median) is illegal and you will be towed.
Please be respectful of our neighbors. Do not park within 3 feet of any driveway or within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or your car WILL be towed.
BICYCLING
We encourage all of our fans to use pedal power – by far the easiest way to get to the festival! Bike racks are just outside the main entrance, just south of the Box Office near Enrique Alferez Dr. If you plan on leaving your bicycle at the bike racks, don’t forget to bring your own lock! Please be aware that all bikes left locked in the designated bike racks after 11 PM on Sunday risk being impounded.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY:
Voodoo is dedicated to keeping patrons safe. In the event of an emergency, safety messaging will come from the stage video screens, announcements from the loud-speakers, push notifications on the Official Voodoo Festival Mobile App, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and instructions from festival staff and security. Anyone in need of medical or security assistance throughout the weekend may approach any festival security or staff member for the appropriate support.
