Victor Ray releases “It Only Cost Everything”

‘It Only Cost Everything’ is the second single from Victor Ray’s forthcoming EP ‘I felt’, which is due for release in early August. The single’s release follows a breathtaking performance to a packed out venue at The Great Escape, as well as a sold-out headline show at Camden Assembly. This was the second time Victor has topped a bill, but as with his previous headline show, this one sold out in hours. 

At only 23, the Ugandan-born, Newcastle-raised Victor has amassed millions of loyal followers from across the world, having started busking as a way to fund studying at music college, gaining a vast fanbase of 2.5 million on TikTok and over 300,000 on Instagram. Those lucky enough to have encountered his talents will quickly see why this viral sensation has accumulated such an impressive global following in so short a time. 

Victor’s appeal is clear; his tender, soulful vocals create a powerful synergy with his singular talent for songwriting and fresh production style. ‘It Only Cost Everything’ is “a song about the addictive feeling of being in a toxic relationship and taking accountability for allowing the relationship to progress” and musically, combines Victor’s love of classic Soul, and contemporary RnB reminiscent of Michael Kiwanuka and Sam Smith.
