Welsh extreme metal band Venom Prison has announced that their new album “Erebos” will be released on February 4, 2022, via Century Media Records. The album follows their 2020 rerelease of the EP Primeval as a full-length record with two new tracks.

The record’s cover art was designed by Berlin-based painter Eliran Kantor. The group said that “being able to work with our dear friend Eliran on another piece of art for Venom Prison has been exciting as always. Kantor knows the band perfectly well to capture our music and poetry into a visual masterpiece every single time. ‘Erebos’ was a personal one for both Eliran Kantor and ourselves. This artwork captures the moment a young person dies inside as they are surrounded by horror. In the moment their innocence is lost and desensitization will from now on fuel the repetition of the cycle of violence in their life. This is ‘Erebos,’ the one born from chaos.”

The group also shared their first single from the record, titled “Judges of the Underworld,” which deals with the struggles of individuals facing incarceration and systematic violence.

Led by Russian-born vocalist Larissa Stupor and guitarist Ash Gray, along with guitarist Ben Thomas, bassist Mike Jefferies, and drummer Joe Bills, Venom Prison has quickly become one of the most talked-about and exciting groups in the realm of Black and Extreme Metal. Their second album, 2019’s “Samsara” earned major praise as one of 2019’s most anticipated extreme metal albums according to Metal Hammer. The quintet has become known for their fusion of death metal with hardcore, and their social and political commentary in their lyrics.
