Tove Lo And Slayyyter Deliver Energetic, And Steamy Show At The Fox Theater
With her 3rd to last Dirt Femme tour show, Tove Lo puts her voice and pop music on full display at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California. Opening the night was the hyperpop/dance pop singer, Slayyyter dressed in a tight black corset with a long sleeve glittery fishnet underneath it all and tall black gladiator platforms. Her DJ accompanied her as she impressed the crowd with her powerful vocals and he with his house euro-dance pop instrumentals. The beginning of the show was a bit slow as the crowd swayed and head bobbed to her songs, refusing to join in as she danced and shook her butt around the stage, but slowly throughout the night, she got the crowd to reciprocate the same energy back. Jumping and cheering and singing along to her hits like “Mine” and “Daddy AF” from her 2019 debut self titled album. By the last couple of songs she had the crowd at the tips of her glittery fingers.

As the lights dimmed down again, the crowd cheered and screamed as the drummer, bassist and other instrumentalists began to take the stage. The room began to fill with smoke as waves of people clustered towards the front of the pit. The air vibrated with anticipation for the main event of the night. As Tove Lo took the stage in a silver metal plated body suit of armor, she set the vibe of the rest of the night with one of the hit songs from the album “Dirt Femme”, “Attention Whore”.
Talking about her body as she switched into a neon green see-though leotard
“It feels so good, after so long, and hating my body and everything about it, to be standing in front of you all half naked. Maybe it was the therapy.”
She shouts to the crowd, “Here’s to friends and f*ckboys!” transitioning into “Cool Girl”, with heavy bass and flashing lights, she smiles as she easily flings herself into the raw and powerful energy of her adoring fans. As the crowd danced and sang with all of their might to her songs like “Talking Bodies” and “Disco Tits”, Tove Lo strutted from left and right of the stage, posing and dancing on each end for everyone to get amazing shots of her.

“Moments” has the crowd take it down a notch as her voice echoes throughout the theater with just the instrumentals of a guitar. As she performed “True Romance”, we saw her stand on a brightly lit platform, as a wind machine dramatically blew through her hair as the fans swayed with lit lighters and flashlights to the beat.

She ends the emotionally filled night with “True Disaster”, a hit from her 2016 album “Lady Wood”. Tove Lo wraps 80’s synths and pop music with lyrics of love, friendships and body issues all into something that is not only catchy in tune but is true and raw in lyrics.
