Too Many Nice Things about The Linda Lindas
The Linda Lindas are one-of-a-kind. Their talents are able to transcend to audiences of all ages, despite only being in their early teens. In fact, their musical prowess are identical to those of seasoned riot grrrl bands like Bikini Kill (Who they, coincidentally enough, opened for at The Palladium in 2019.) The Linda Lindas are the type of artists that you would have never guessed would be younger than what they are since their musical ability is mature beyond their years.
“Too Many Things” marks the first release since the success of their 2022 debut album Growing Up. The single was released days prior to their Coachella performance. It is a fun, upbeat punk-pop song that will have you singing along this summer. To continue the experience, the band released an accompanying music video last month.
The music video was directed by frequent collaborator Ryan Baxley and filmed in Los Angeles. The music video takes place at the Burgerlords diner and has the members playing different roles such as customers, waiters, and kitchen crew. The vibrant reds and blues compliment the overall atmosphere.
In a short span of time, The Linda Lindas have made strides within the entertainment industry. For instance, their aforementioned debut album caught the attention of The New York Times, in which they called it “wholesome and fierce,” as well as “the most heartwarming record of the year” from Pitchfork. They have been invited to play on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and NPR’s Tiny Desk. They caught the eye of Amy Poehler and were featured in her 2021 film Moxie. In addition from opening for Bikini Kill, they toured with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Japanese Breakfast. Coming next for the band, they are expected to release new music this year and they are preparing to tour with Paramore.
