There Is Power in Reason In Bayline’s ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder’

A staple in the horror genre, crows are seen as omens of bad luck or an alternate form of the Grim Reaper. While these could be real, often reality is stranger than fiction. It’s quite unfair for these majestic species to garner such a bad rap just cause pop culture dictates so. Beneath those dark as night features lies intelligent, inquisitive and mischievous characters. All are traits that we humans have in common with our feathery and beaky brethren (insert crow noises).

Much like a crow perched on a tree on a warm summer day. Songs about these birds painted in good light or depicting them as heroes are hard to come by. But then there are exceptions to the rule just like the band from Netherlands Bayline with their second single ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder’. Released in all major streaming platforms last March 8th in collaboration with Suburban Records. ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder’ is a track that takes the image of a crow and likens it to us.

While we don’t have wings, claws and beaks, Bayline opens our eyes that there is power in reason. Therefore we must incorporate it in every decision we face. To add to that, much like them we too are social beings prone to group thinking. But amidst that, what Bayline wants us to drive home is that like crows we should standup when we sense danger. If an ideology, practice or trend is toxic, don’t engage in it. Be disciplined enough to say no, or better yet cut off people who want to bring you harm in the first place. Take that risk of being deemed unpopular if it means you’ll lead a happy and healthy life. You are at utmost importance more than fitting in. Know your self worth, and from there like the great big sky everything will open up for you all of a sudden.

Coming in hard, Bayline’s strong vocals and instrumentals shock our systems all throughout the tune. As a result  providing us this awakening and powerful anthem meant to shake up a generation. Admirable yes, but it also goes to show that music when in the hands of artists who care could turn it into a force of good.
