Well-known electronic label IN/ROTATION released rising artist QLANK’s latest EP Modern Mechanics. It consists of six songs that are all equal in dance and bass quality.

Starting out strong, “You Right” is an bass-heavy track that includes an infectious, repetitive voice that sings “to the left, right, front, back.”

Next, “Life Alert” features Tima Dee. It is a playful, tongue-in-cheek song which has the singer going crazy for someone to the point where she is in need of Life Alert because she has fallen hard.

The third track “Find Away” is influenced by soul dance and it is characterized by glitched out vocals and beeping synths. “Pretty Deep” is a slinky bass track that is characterized by dark synth strikes and a climatic bass drop in the middle.

The intensity is elevated in “So High” as the song starts out with a rise in bass. The song consist of choppy vocals that repeat the phrase “don’t bring me down” as we are taken on a journey that escalates between rising beats and climatic drops. It can be likened to being on a rollercoaster ride.

The closing track “Minimix’ is the shortest with a runtime of 47 seconds. The song is a mix of all the tracks in the EP and highlights the versatile production style of QLANK.

QLANK is based in LA and is known for his cohesive mix of heavy bass sounds with traditional dance production. Although he has been in the industry for more than seven years, he is finally receiving the recognition that he rightfully deserves. His 2021 single “Suffocating” has over 10 million plays on Spotify. Because of the popularity of the release, QLANK is expected to have an increase in following.
