The Cult Announce New Album, ‘Under The Midnight Sun’ Due Oct 7

Cults, no matter how you see it, have played a role in human history. They’ve caused havoc, amazement and of course the discussion of what faith means to you. It’s one aspect of human life that can cause anyone to flinch and run the opposite direction in an instant. Fight and flight mode activated, like how a bunny would in the presence of a hungry fox.

But in the realm of the occult, just like everywhere else they have their outliers. There are those who take on the concept and turn it into something more. Take The Cult for example, who repurposed the idea of being in a cult and cult life in general. Transforming this “creepy” word into a beloved music group and overall force of good that’s been in the rock scene since 1983.

With gems like “She Sells Sanctuary” (1985), “Wild Flower” (1987), “Peace Dog” (1987) and so much more, The Cult has always had that knack to tickle our fancies. Taking us to unknown places with such zany imagery that could lead to countless breathless smiles. Consider it a little vacation into their topsy turvy kingdom built through the years.

Now though, despite Father Time running them through a gauntlet like every icon did in the past. They chose to stand tall and beat the odds by continuing to do what they love -playing music. As proof of that, they announced that they have an upcoming album called “Under The Midnight Sun” set to release this October 7th. Produced by Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Ghost, Royal Blood) via Black Hill Records, this is more than just a sign of life. Rather a statement that attests that geniuses are eternal and there’s always a need for what they do.

As an additional treat, they also shared their single “Give Me Mercy” complete with an MV. But the icing on the cake among all this would be that they were going back on tour which started this July 16th in Pittsburg PA and would run through October 27th in Costa Mujeres, Mexico.
