The Astronomers Turn Up the Summertime Vibes with “Like The Holidays”

If the hot temperatures couldn’t tell you that we’re in the heat of summer, maybe a new single from alt-pop duo The Astronomers can. “Like The Holidays” is everything that is reminiscent of summertime fun. With its catchy synth hooks, jovial horns, and sweet vocals, the track is a rush of endorphins packed into a dance-inducing, good vibes-injecting couple of minutes. It urges listeners to push through their worries and live every day like it’s a holiday. The duo shares,

“Like the Holidays” is about living every day with the imagination that it is a holiday. Ben and I always would get so excited for holidays such as Christmas, 4th of July, etc… because it was always something to look forward to. This song will take you through a journey of little problems that are not meant to be worried about but otherwise to let happen. Enjoy the time you have and live every day like the holidays. The goal of the production was for it to sound like a celebration so it matched the hook ‘live every day like the holidays.’ The swung feel of the song and the carefree lyrics make this song a summer hit.

The Wisconsin-based duo is known for challenging the alt-pop space with their synthesis of unconventional elements in each track and creating highly energetic singles that lead into performances to keep the crowd going. The bouncy production, complete with piano chords, floats behind the plucky vocals to create this summertime anthem. Much like the title and song’s intent would suggest, the lyrics of the track elevate the overall mood to be one of excitement and fun. “Like The Holidays” guarantees an uplifted mood upon listening and it’s easy to envision what a live crowd listening to this would be like – ample with swaying bodies and clapping hands, embracing the track’s message to the fullest.
