On May 12, 2024, Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley made a heartfelt gesture in honor of Mother’s Day by visiting Coalition on Temporary Shelter’s (COTS) Peggy’s Place. During his visit, he surprised three families by covering their security deposits, allowing them to transition out of the emergency shelter provided by COTS.

His generous donation also enabled these mothers to purchase essential household items for their new homes. Tee Grizzley spent time engaging with the families and staff, taking photos, and offering words of encouragement, going above and beyond simply offering financial support.

COTS is a Detroit-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. COTS provides emergency shelter, supportive and affordable housing, and a range of comprehensive services aimed at helping families achieve stability.

By forming strategic partnerships, COTS assists families in reaching their housing, economic, health, education, and career goals, working tirelessly to break the cycle of poverty across generations.
