Super Duper releases new sweet single, “Honey,” featuring guest vocalist Lonas

This April, Nashville-producer Super Duper released his second single in two months, “Honey.” This track is a self-proclaimed “beautifully spaced-out ode to a simpler time.” The thumping, up-tempo drums blend perfectly with the crescendoing cloud of synths, creating a hypnotic blend of lush sounds. Guest vocalist Lonas adds the perfect touch to the track, with a beautiful voice that sounds almost like an instrument itself, resulting in an intoxicating sound.

Lonas describes the feeling behind the song: “Honey is a song for the romantic nostalgic in all of us. We look back with a hazy fondness and long for a time before gravity. Whether that time ever really existed is, of course, irrelevant.  We keep daydreaming all the same.”

A versatile producer with praise across platforms, Super Duper has spent his career crossing genres to fantastic results. His music has resonated to the tune of millions of streams, support from Spotify’s essential playlists like Dance Rising, uploads from SuicideSheeep to Chill Nation, and a slew of #1 slots on the HypeM popular chart alike. His debut 2020 album HALLELUJAH! was a smash success and praised by the likes of Magnetic Magazine as a “triumphant” outing. Super Duper’s work has also been featured by Google, Lexus, Playstation, ESPN, Peloton, and Fruit Of The Loom, not to mention notching a Clio award for scoring the trailer to Steve McQueen’s new motion picture Widows. Beyond the studio, he has toured and played alongside some of electronic music’s biggest names such as The Chainsmokers, Petit Biscuit, Kasbo, The Glitch Mob and Big Wild.

Lonas, the self-described “nostalgia rock” solo project of Louis Johnson, is also known as one half of the Saint Johns. His recent independent releases mark a sharp departure from his usual folk style; where the Saint Johns give us gentle Americana, Lonas is more groovy — delivering a unique sound that mellows out Super Duper’s striking melodies.
