Swiss songwriter and producer Strome recently marked his third release of the year, and of his career, with an acoustic remake of his previous original, “Musicbox.” With the acoustic version, the original song is reduced to the beautiful melodies and phenomenal voice that lift the song to new levels. By stripping down the track in a manner that focuses primarily on the lyrical content, it gives listeners something we can all relate to these days – getting through troublesome times together. It’s naked, honest, and simple. The melodies are brought to life by a voice that has already worked with stunning songwriters like Ryan Tedder and superstar John Legend.

Soft-strummed guitar strings paired with vocals that evoke immense amounts of care, particularly when paired with the sweet and hopeful lyrics, create a soothing atmosphere. While the slow tempo can feel heavy and melancholic at times, the overall tone is joyful and uplifting. Within the lyrics, the imagery of a toy music box is used to symbolize the excitement and anticipation of better times while remembering past melodies captured within it. There’s heartfelt consideration that pours out of the affectionately toned vocals, leaving listeners with a warm glow within their chests and hopeful thoughts for the future.
