Grammy-nominated DJ duo SIDEPIECE, composed of Nitti Gritti and Party Favor, took the stage with Alison Wonderland for the first night of her two-night streak at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado. Though sonically opposite ends of the electronic music spectrum, their love for the audience and high energy of their sets matched wavelengths for a complimentary pairing for the night. They were pancaked between two alt-rock DJ queens, perhaps a challenge to tie together, but they understood the assignment and delivered a tech house set full of sass and good vibes.

Elohim started her set with all her feel good songs advocating positive self talk and self-love with fun lyric visuals. She sprinkled in a mid-set to create a hypnotic journey that only got weirder as the section progressed. Finally she closed out with some club bangers like “Strut” for the rest, of course reprieving for heavy-hitting heartbreak dub.

She was a perfect opener for Alison as they share a similar passion for indulging in the darker emotions humans experience in healthy, cathartic ways, as well as putting yourself first and pushing that self-love, all while being inspiring punk rock girls.
SIDEPIECE played such a fun set! Everyone was up and dancing by the time the guys started playing a few tracks. Their three originals, “Acrobatic,” “Together” and “On My Mind,” transitioning together back to back hit really well with the audience.
They even remixed a handful of fun throwback classics like Stevie Nicks’ “Dreams” and “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. Their visuals alternated between their name flashing, their signature *kiss* logo, and a really cool one in particular in which a hand was shooting a lazer into the crowd out of the third eye blinking in its palm. SIDEPIECE played “Solace” by Rüfüs Du Sol, who just played at Red Rocks less than a month ago. “Solace” is always such a special song to hear live, and Alison played it too!

Stay tuned for all the details of Alison Wonderland‘s two-night performance at Red Rocks. We’ll be recapping everything tomorrow!
