There’s no missing what Boston-based songwriter/producer, SATO, means with his latest single. From its straightforward title to its heartfelt lyrics, “Give Me A Call” is a straight shooting ballad which was written as an apology to someone very special to SATO.
The track begins with a simple and sweet piano melody. SATO’s introspective lyrics carry an emotional weight and apologetic tone. And while he acknowledges that he’s no good at apologizing, it’s clear from this song that he does know how to apologize…just in the way that he knows best, which is with a ballad from the heart. And even though he says he can’t find the right words, the words seem to flow freely as the piano begins to swell and strings are incorporated.
As the song builds to a large room ballad, more instrumental elements are added in and the song seems to speak for itself. SATO gives his all between the sound production and the heartwarming vocal performance. It’s quite an apology if I do say so myself, so I hope it all worked out in the end for him!
