Sahara Beck Offers Seductive New Single of Decadence & Denial with “Kryptonite”

On Sahara Beck’s stunning new single, “Kryptonite,” doing the wrong thing has never sounded so right. Served up in a cocktail glass of sparkly pop and gleaming synth, it’s a deductive shot of decadence and denial, chased down with hard truths and candid confessions.

It follows the release of her most recent single ‘Crave Me’ which received radio support across the globe. Sahara was also featured on ASIA POP 40 as the #AlternativeChoice. Asia Pop 40 have interviewed the likes of John Legend and Justin Bieber and their audience is in the millions broadcasting to 100+ radio stations across SE Asia, Asia, Middle East, Australasia and North America.

And her latest release, “Kryptonite,” comes off the back of her International collaboration with Purple Disco Machine. Sahara co-wrote and features on “Can’t Get Enough”, the first track off the highly acclaimed sophomore LP Exotica, which includes the massive Sophie & The Giants hit, “Hypnotized,” alongside other hit singles, “Fireworks” (feat.Moss Kena & The Knocks) and “Dopamine” (feat. Eyelar). The track was produced by ARIA Award-nominated Tony Buchen (Mansionair, Courtney Barnett), and it’s admittedly Sahara’s most personal song to date.

I realized I was doing a lot of bad things to avoid feeling and processing what I was going through at the time. Instead, I was always dancing, always smiling, trying to make other people feel good. I didn’t want to take anything seriously because that means dealing with it. Then you soon realize you’re falling in love with the things that are slowly killing you.

~ Sahara Beck

The joyous beat easily disguises the song’s powerful message. The song’s vibrant sound hides a far deeper meaning from within. At its heart, “Kryptonite” recognizes itself running from reality rather than facing it. And rather than facing the cold hard reality, it admits to diving into the vices we all know and wrestle with. But that’s always been Sahara’s gift – to spin sadness into bliss, weakness into wonder.
