Cora Rose takes us on a neofolk musical and visual journey out in the wilderness across different USA and Mexico landscapes. In “Here We Listen,” each instrument was recorded and filmed on location, from sand dunes and salt flats, to abandoned factories and cliffs overlooking the Sea of Cortez. She sings, “Look what we made- a lot of nothing and a whole lot of something, because we’re holding onto something here” as her vocals breathe life into her listeners, just as the wind blows through her hair.
“Here We Listen” is the first single in an ongoing collaboration with her partner, José Luis Vílchez. They are travelling across 23 counties of the Americas, creating murals and music inspired by the people and landscapes of both continents. They’ll continue releasing a new single and video each month, sharing the beauty and grit of the Americas captured in artistically creative bits. This project is a lovely way to blend cultures and backgrounds, really showcase the strength of diversity.
