Today, April 9th, enchanting UK singer and songwriter, Rose Betts, releases emotional, self-reflective single “Recovery,” lifted from her highly anticipated forthcoming album. Today’s release follows Rose’s “Song To The Siren,” which was released last month as part of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).
The soundtrack features a brand-new score to accompany Snyder’s vision for the film, created by GRAMMY-nominated multi-platinum producer, musician, composer and educator Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, the upcoming Godzilla Vs. Kong), alongside Rose’s “Song To The Siren,” to open the soundtrack. Rose also works on other music projects besides her own, one of those being Bazzi’s “Young & Alive,” which received a Best Remixed Recording GRAMMY nomination this year, the 63rd Annual Awards.
While the soundtrack accompanies the film’s storyline- determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions- Rose Betts’s “Song To The Siren” warps us into the experience of the film with a gentle piano intro, following emotionally conducted vocals that take the front stage as strings pour into the sound in harmony. Following a strong anthem track to a major production, Rose Betts’s “Recovery,” conveys a strong personal message inspired by the messy end of a relationship. Her uncanny ability to pen beautiful hooks and lyrics with a depth far beyond her years shines true in this new single. About the track, she says, “This song came from an experience that changed me and changed the way I write and sing songs.” In such a messy endeavor as being left alone and traumatized from the mess of an ending relationship, the track is rinses clean the gunk and cathartically releases the toxicity and pain. Rose’s unique vocals express that battle for recovering beautifully as it shines a beacon of hope for the future.
