Receiving Her Flowers: Lizzo’s Album, SPECIAL, Nominated in Six Categories from 65th Annual Grammy Awards

With the 65th Annual Grammy Awards quickly approaching, nominations are rolling in. We are excited to announce that three time Grammy Award and Emmy award winning, RIAA multi-platinum, superstar, Lizzo has been nominated in six categories. Lizzo is one of the most nominated artists for the upcoming awards show, with nominations in three of four major categories!

Lizzo’s album, SPECIAL has been nominated for both “Album of the Year” and “Best Pop Vocal Album”. Her Billboard Hot 100 #1 Worldwide Smash, “About Damn Time” has been nominated in three categories: “Best Pop Solo Performance”, “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year”. Lastly, the Purple Disco Machine remix for “About Damn Time” has been nominated for “Best Remixed Recording”. 

Hosted by comedian and Lizzo fan, Trevor Noah, the Grammy Awards will be held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Those watching from home are able to see it air live on CBS and Paramount+. 

There is no doubt that Lizzo’s nominated album, SPECIAL, impacted so much of 2022. With songs like “Special”, “About Damn Time”, “I Love You, Bitch”, and “Grrrls” Lizzo has been using her music to uplift and empower millions across the globe. Lizzo has become an icon inside and outside of the music industry. Her cheerful music, her tenacity for women empowerment movements, and her unapologetic character and authenticity has and continues to draw millions to her!
