RAYE AND COI LERAY JOIN FORCES IN “FLIP A SWITCH” REMIX
UK singer-songwriter RAYE has had a successful 2023 so far. For example, her hit song “Escapism” featuring 070 Shake has gotten certified RIAA platinum and has reached the top 10 on the mainstream pop charts. In addition, she has been featured in NPR’s Tiny Desk concert and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! RAYE’s “Flip A Switch” is the 9th track on her debut album My 21st Century Blues that was released in February of this year. The remix with American singer Coi Leray was released this past week. Like her collaborator, Coi Leray has had her own share of success this year with her single “Players” reaching the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart.
In the trap-influenced kiss-off, RAYE is reflecting towards a relationship that had turned sour in the opening verse.

The stakes are raised as both women begin singing about their failed relationships. Coi Leray raps about realizing their self-worth and that it is truly the man’s loss on the second verse. Overall, this track is bittersweet as it sends the message of a failed relationship but also having a realization of self-worth.
