RaeCola Unleashes Self-Renowned Ghetto Tech House in Debut EP, Bezerk
Los Angeles-based DJ and producer duo RaeCola has been off to an incredible start, picking up books at Day Trip and Dirtybird Campout and now hot off the release of their debut EP, Bezerk. While they have energized crowds and online audiences via their mixing skills, electric personalities, and flashy looks, the twin sisters (Rae and Nicole) have waited until the release of Bezerk to share their vision for the future of house music.
We have been DJing for 6 years now and are recent graduates of Icon Collective Music Production. After spending these years tailoring our sound to where it is now, we are ready to begin sharing our original music. This release embodies exactly what you can expect to find at our shows–elements of classic House and tech House with booty bouncing bass lines and highlights of ghetto House/Juke. We hope people feel defiant while listening to our music and inspired to push boundaries while following our journey.

Originally hailing from Chicago, known for its deep revival of house music in the late 90s, RaeCola pays homage to the foundation of the genre with their underground, booty bass sound while also adding edge and a new era feel to each set with their beats and connection with the crowd. They were introduced to house at a young age, instantly falling in love with the contagious drum beats, and then created their own sound in the scene by adding in other eclectic music tastes.
Today, they specialize in producing self-renowned Ghetto Tech House, fusing “Ghetto House” with “Tech House” to create irresistible drumbeats, slapping basslines, and enticing vocals. With musical influences like DJ Slugo, Ghettoblaster, and DJ Godfather, RaeCola emulates a juke style while incorporating their own signature sound.
Bezerk perfectly highlights the sound the twins have worked so hard to perfect and while it has a short run time of approximately 7 minutes over two tracks, this is one of those works that begs for repetitive play. From its infectious basslines to wonky synths to catchy hooks, Bezerk creates an energetic atmosphere that will absolutely get you dancing. “Bezerk” has a bit of an experimental tone added to the groovy track, whereas “Juke That Zerk” has more of that ghetto house and jerk vibe. Combining the two tracks together makes for the ultimate dance party, so it’s only fitting that this is RaeCola’s first official release. The duo is known for their passion for connection and love, raising the vibrations and energy with each set and encouraging all to have fun, free of judgment and full of love.
The title ‘Bezerk’ came as a take on the word “berserk” which means to be wild, unrestrained, full of excitement and recklessly defiant. All of which describe the energy behind our artist duo and ourselves. We’ve always lived our lives striving to push boundaries. From moving to LA on our own at 17 years old to later quitting our jobs to pursue a future in music, we’ve always followed our gut and dreams despite the risk.
