The night prior to his set at Seismic Dance Event 4.0, progressive and melodic house and techno DJ and producer Kai Castro sat down with us for a very wholesome interview. He shared the appreciation he has for event organizers, RealMusic Events, and the musical journey he has experienced, from being a sound chameleon thanks to opening for industry staples like Shiba San and Eric Prydz to honing in his sound to his dream labels. He has played at Seismic Dance Event since its inception and discusses the growth he’s seen with the event.

Kai believes in the power of music. As he writes on his website,

It’s what helps us get out of bed in the morning, it’s the thread that ties together our closest friends, and it’s what takes us on adventures around the world. Every one of our most powerful memories comes intertwined with an equally powerful song.

His goal is to play a role in creating those memories, from writing music that brings out powerful emotions to playing shows that transport listeners to new places to sharing music representative of both introspective and euphoric moments. He hopes to create a community of not only music enthusiasts but also of people who want to take their understanding of and love for electronic music a bit deeper.

Make sure to watch our full interview below. When we get towards the end of the video, Kai has one of the best responses of the weekend. Be sure to also listen to his set from the event!
