Dance through the week with New Music Friday Dance!

1. BIJOU, Bexxie: “Nowhere to Hide”

House producers BIJOU and Bexxie joined forces for their new single, “Nowhere to Hide.” This track combines glossy, wonky sounds with a thumping bassline and a catchy vocal sample that says, “Echoes haunt me.” Though the title sounds vulnerable, the lyrics revel in this exposure, happily dancing through the chaos.

2. ANATTA: “Cherry Tip”

Groovy, classic house DJ ANATTA returned with “Cherry Tip.” Highlights of the track include a funky, disco-style guitar and a moving bassline. The vintage vocal sample calls back to house’s golden age, fusing the old and the new. Though upbeat, this song is relatively relaxing and would suit a “cool-down” section of any house set.

3. Cassian, SCRIPT, Belladonna (ofc): “Where I’m From”

Techno producers Cassian, SCRIPT, and Belladonna (ofc) teamed up for “Where I’m From.” This rumbling, hypnotic techno track balances between intimidating and sensual, ideal for revving up a club crowd’s energy. The liberal yet tasteful use of panning enhances the enveloping effect. Exuding confidence, the lyrics say, “Know where I’m from and I know what I got.”

4. Acraze, Puku: “Rock My World”

New York-based DJ Acraze and Puku released “Rock My World.” Beginning with the question, “Baby, could you rock my world?” the track sets expectations for a rollercoaster of an instrumental. However, it is not until the latter half that the smooth house beat switches gears. Crunchy, mechanical sounds join the party, adding an unexpected edge.

5. Nostalgix, Bipolar Sunshine: “Power” – Asdek Remix

Producer Asdek remixed Nostalgix and Bipolar Sunshine‘s track “Power.” The relaxed main vocals and a delayed drop build up the excitement, releasing into a thick house bassline. A quick drum & bass interjection breaks up the chorus. The euphoric top ends lend to the track title, inspiring an invincible feeling that can refuel the dance “tank” of any partygoer.
