#NewMusicFriday: Our Picks for the Week

From Lorde to sombr, New Music Friday has got you covered on the fresh hits.

1. Daisy Grenade – “Don’t Sweat It”

The Brooklyn-based band Daisy Grenade drops their new single “Don’t Sweat It,” a breezy, no-pressure summer track that leans into pop without losing its edge. Produced by Andrew Goldstein (Blink-182, Knox, Addison Rae), the track showcases the duo’s charm: it is sharp, fun, and the perfect pop song for the summer.

2. ROREY – “Nobody’s Fault But My Own”

ROREY returns with a new single, “Nobody’s Fault But My Own,” a stripped-down, emotionally charged song that pairs her signature airy vocals with acoustic guitar and lyrics that captures the artist’s self-reflection. Written during a manic episode at 21 and packed with raw storytelling, “Nobody’s Fault But My Own” is a powerful work that channels her emotions into art. The track offers a first look at Dysphoria, ROREY’s sophomore EP coming out August 15.

3. Eliza McLamb – “Quitting”

Eliza McLamb is back with “Quitting,” her first release since the breakout debut Going Through It. Produced by longtime collaborator Sarah Tudzin (illuminati hotties, boygenius), the track showcases Eliza’s indie rock charm. Featuring players from Lucy Dacus, Death Cab for Cutie, and boygenius’ orbit, “Quitting” is doing exactly the opposite as the title, instead, it is a confident step forward from one of indie’s most compelling new voices.

4. Lorde – “Hammer”

Lorde makes a striking return with “Hammer,” another bold single that leans into her new era with raw emotion. Built on her signature lyrical intensity, the song feels both intimate and liberating. “Hammer” pulses with defiance and desire, giving listeners another intriguing glimpse into the highly anticipated new album, Virgin (out June 27th).

5. sombr – “we never dated”

Rising indie-pop star sombr drops new single “we never dated,” a hazy, heart-on-sleeve confession wrapped in classic sombr-style melancholy. With his understated vocals and heartbreakingly relatable lyrics, the song captures the quiet ache of almost-relationships.
