Until now, music was just ASTRINA’s natural way of expressing what she feels. Realizing she wanted her writing process to do more, she started writing songs to help her find a healthy perspective and to put her listeners in a good headspace. When her new song “I’m Still Here” was written, ASTRINA found herself having a particularly rough morning. “I’m Still Here” stands to remind her that living is persevering. The song immediately puts its listener in a good mood, with her sweet pop vocals blending perfectly over its quirky galactic pop beat.
Growing up, ASTRINA spent most of her time alone sitting at a grand piano writing instrumental music. After realizing her love of performing at USC’s Thornton School of Music, she transformed into producer/singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who has fashioned a deeply profound breed of indie pop.
Her music is inspired by acts like Muse, The xx and Radiohead, as well as her extensive background in classical music and film scoring. Her gentle vocal and catchy melodies draw you into her intricate and ethereal arrangements, where she builds the perfect sonic backdrop to the narratives she explores about love, mental health, and philosophy.
