Kharfi, one of Italy’s youngest DJ’s, just released his newest single “Exception To,” an upbeat love song that will have you singing along by the second chorus. With this song, Kharfi wants to express all the energy he experiences with his choice of sounds: sweet arpeggios, a rough bassline, and vocals by the Italian-American Cristina Lizzul completes it all.
With help from Christina Lizzul on vocals, the lyrics “I could care for you, be right there for you, anywhere for you, all night long” are simple yet get the sentiment across clearly, and the melody is already stuck in my head. It’s a feel good song with vibrant sounds that I can’t wait to hear live at a music festival when we can gather again!
At a mere 24 years old, this Italian-Moroccan producer has already put out numerous singles since 2016 and a full length album entitled “Grattacieli,” and is excited to release his second full length album soon. Kharfi has received recognition from notable artists as Kygo, Diplo and The Chainsmokers, and has had the opportunity to open for Skrillex, Steve Aoki and many more big names. Kharfi’s debut single “Hei Bae” aired on the main Italian radios and launched him in the heart of the Italian scene. His recent release “Don’t Waste My Time” feat. Jade Million, placed on the Top 10 Electronic Dance Music chart in Italy within the first week of it’s release.
Earlier this week Kharfi took the stage for a livestream event for Milan Music Week, where his energetic presence emanated through the screen. He teased us all with a few unreleased songs from his upcoming album. It was quite a treat, so definitely be on the lookout for news on that! “Exception To” is, of course, featured on our New Music Friday playlist so you can stream it, in addition to discovering other great new music.
